Workshop 1 - 'What's Hot and What's Not' , 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm
Urban heat is a hot topic - find out with the City of Adelaide team where the city's hot spots are and surfaces to avoid with a guided tour through the online Heat Mapping Tool. Hear about some current City of Adelaide projects which mitigate urban heat and the urban heat island effect.
Dr Ehsan Sharifi (School of Architecture and Built Environment, University of Adelaide) will share some of the current urban heat research and show us how we can measure it ourselves! All participants will get to use infrared measuring equipment in this workshop to test different materials.
Refreshments and using heat tools, 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm

Workshop 2 - 'Are you ready for the heat?', 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Join the State Emergency Service in an interactive workshop to help you prepare for heatwaves and minimise impacts for you, your family, friends, community and your workplace. You will gain handy tips on how to keep cool, stay hydrated, and check on those at risk during the heat.
